Mail is unable to connect to server

Mail was unable to connect to server “p71-imap.mail.me.com” using SSL on the default ports. Verify that this server supports SSL and that your account settings are correct.

Unable to fix this...please advise. Going on a week now and need to get it fixed.

icloud smtp failed to connect via apple mail Hi. I met a problem, which lasting more than 1 month, that the apple mail fails to connect to iCloud SMTP server, but the IMAP works fine. The Mail Connection Doctor said as following: Could not connect to this SMTP server. Check your network connection and that you entered the correct information in the Account preferences. Also verify that the server supports SSL. If it does not, deselect the "Use TLS/SSL" checkbox in the Server Settings tab of Account preferences. I tried to logout my Apple ID and re-login on my Mac, switching off the mail and switch on, but nothing changed. I am using macOS Monterey 12.6.2. Unfortunately, I could not upgrade to the newest OS cuz of my old MacBook Pro is not compatible. Any hint or suggestion will be appreciation.

mail no longer working after upgrade to Ventura 13.4.1 Yesterday after upgrading to Ventura 13.4.1 I found I could no longer send or receive email. This applied to both my iCloud and gmail mail address. Trying to send via iCloud I get: Mail was unable to connect to server “p39-smtp.mail.me.com” using SSL on the default ports. Verify that this server supports SSL and that your account settings are correct. Whilst it may be a coincidence mail was working correctly before the upgrade to 13.4.1 but stopped working immediately after installing the upgrade. Any help appreciated.
