If i forgot my passcode, can i still restore my phone without erasing the entire phone?

My daughter has forgot her passcode on her device. She doesn't want to factory reset the phone. We wantted to know if there was a way to unlock it, without deleting the entire thing. We have access to icloud. I am not very tech savvy and can't seem to figure it out! please help!

The phone will need to be erased by following the article viewed on the top of the page. With a recent iCloud Backup, everything will be restored to the same state as that backup. To see what is included in the iCloud backups, you can reference this support article:
