I FIGURED IT OUTTTT! i have been dealing with this for 6 months. TURNS OUT my router had a firewall setting on called "Enable SPI Firewall", so i unchecked this. i found this setting on the website page that has direct access to my router settings and status. specifically http://tplinkwifi.net/ but thats my brand of router. hope this helps!!
