Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > iCloud Drive > Turn off Sync this iPhone
This will delete all iCloud data including the corrupted data from your phone. You can then turn this on again to see if it has fixed the issue for you.
This issue happens for me when I switch from WiFi to Cellular while downloading a file which I believe corrupts the file.
I was a regular user of files app. The issue with the files app started for me after taken additional storage in iCloud.
Now for accessing my iCloud plus files through files app, i am restarting my iPhone multiple time. (Force close app not working for files app. ie after force close, files app open as frozen)
please guide me in this regards
Thank you very much for this trick to overcome problem with File app.
It started to work normally, sometimes it slows down, especially when one tries to edit/copy some files from iCloud. You need to wait a moment then for app to respond :), but it works.
Files app is stuck in one file. Cant exit the file. Force restart doesnt fix the issue.
Hi Mike,
It looks like you didn't even read the comments above. Force close and restart didn't solve the issue, and your suggestion to delete the app is absurd.
Were you able to find a solution?
Dear I need to offload file named Google LLC, which a not able to select and drag so that it will be gone .
could you please help?
This works!
This seems to be still happening. I wonder why @Apple cannot fix the rootcause of the issue.
Having same issue of files app freezing
You need to pull your head out of you backside and read the original message.
What are you talking about? This thread is about the Files App, not the Mail App.
Did not work for my iPad, unfortunately.
For me this worked. Thank you!
I’ve tried this method without restart, it didn’t work. Tried it with the restart after reading your comment and it worked…THANK YOU!!!!
