iPhone locked to mobile device management from a company that went bust

I recently reset an iPhone we purchased from a company that went into administration. After the reset it gets to a screen saying the device is managed by the company which is now no longer trading. They no longer have an IT department or a contact number for support so there is no way of getting them to login to the management console to release the device from their management.

Is there a way that Apple is able to remove the lock if I send proof of purchase?

iPhone 12

Apple does not get involved with 3rd party sales, so the device would have needed to be removed from Mobile Device Management before they closed.
