apple tv app on mac audio out of synch with video

Some of the movies in my library (purchased but not downloaded, stored in my iCloud) have started to play the audio out of synch with the video. Not all the movies. I can't identify a pattern, why some and not others. I've restarted my Mac, did not help. Checked for software updates, none seem to be available (but I'm not sure I was looking in the right place). Again, this is in the Apple TV App on a Macbook - not on an Apple TV, not on a phone or tablet. When I search for help with this issue, I am directed to pages about Apple TVs or tv apps on iPhones. And poking around on my own, I cannot find any options to update my Apple TV App (although in my Mac settings, it says all my apps are up to date). Currently running Apple TV Version 1.2.5.7, with a copyright of 2022, so I suspect it is actually in need of updating but can't figure out how to do it.


I even downloaded a movie that was out of synch to see if the issue is resolved when the film is not showing online, but it was still out of synch, even when played from a downloaded file. I'm wondering if I should transfer my purchased videos to prevent this from happening to them all - maybe the App is being phased out? Please help!
