Want to know only one thing, is anybody running ubuntu on latest macbook pro?

Please, I don't want, any assumptions or a reference to any other thread.

Just want to know, from experienced guy who have installed Ubuntu 22 on Macbook Pro M2 2023 14''.

on bare metal, no partitioning of dual boot. Just Ubuntu on that machine.

And managed / leveraging all mac functionalities somehow.

If anybody did that, please respond.

Considering that Linux hardware support is still being developed for Apple Silicon Macs, I seriously doubt Ubuntu will fully work on bare metal for the Apple Silicon Macs. Even the people who are actively developing drivers for the Apple Silicon Mac (Asahi Linux) only have a very limited custom OS they use for testing....it is not a full OS. Even they admit there is still lots of work to do with the drivers although basic functionality is there. The Asahi team only recently announced they are going to use Fedora as their OS moving forward so more real world testing can occur. I guess you need to do your own searches since you don't want any links. Quite a shame for other people who find your thread won't have any links to follow for more information. But we will honor your request.

" ...caused no end of mayhem in recovery attempts."

This is pretty clear to me. Not saying impossible, but an exceedingly bad idea because of the problems involved. Just because it can be done does not mean it should be done.

Maybe an Ubuntu user's group will supply the answers you want to hear.

You have the opinions from your chosen group of users, it's up to you to take the advice or not. Your call; your fate.

Mayhem definition: "A state of violent disorder or riotous confusion; havoc."

As another experienced Mac user recently wrote,

"You know that they now give out Darwin awards for those that install Linux onto native Mac hardware, thinking it is just another PC like a Dell. There are years of posts from those that did this and trashed macOS and caused no end of mayhem in recovery attempts."

Since you do not want links or references I will leave it up to you to find it.

I can guarantee you that nobody has done it while "leveraging all mac functionalities" – since many of the Mac's functionalities are in software, or in the integration of software and hardware.

Even if someone has an ARM distribution of Linux running on Apple Silicon machines – and it sounds like that is a long ways away – that wouldn't automatically give Linux all of the integration that makes macOS fun to use. E.g., maybe you could figure out how to get Linux to drive the screen, but that doesn't mean you'd have integration of your contacts / calendars / notes / photos with iPhones; the ability to accept phone calls on your notebook when your iPhone was nearby, etc.
