How do I change the name of my Bluetooth device to a more simple name as opposed to keeping the device name which is made up of numbers and letters

On your iPhone, go to Settings > Bluetooth, make sure the device you wish to rename is connected, tap the "i" icon next to the name then tap Name to rename your device.
