That’s something that is considered an experimental feature within Safari, and those switches can be available for testing purposes, and for enabling or disabling a particular feature—here related to passkeys support—that might later be found to cause problems with a specific website or service.

These experimental features “hacks” are common practice within Safari-related development, and serve as a way to get wider testing, but with a ready workaround if something should break.

Here “hack” is used to mean “kludge”, “workaround”, “inelegance”, or such.

No, this is not malware, nor is this an indication of a security compromise.

All of these dams security codes. Verify 2auth codes. Passwords and keep me signed in check boxes while hiding me from my password as I’m typing it in with bullet dots for oUR Security. Meanwhile it’s Apple ID still want some to sign in everytime on my device all while not gloving us outlet account number nor my Apple Pay card number and they say they don’t store any of our information come now. Seems like the blocking us from us specially with replacing the USab with and less security Cplug. To keep us safe online. Funny things is I’ve never known hackers to ask for that much info nor have they ever called and ask me for it in order to complete their hack. We’re Losing yall
