Every time I type "nut" on my iPhone, I get a popup "Great Clan, Join to get Stronger, Handful of spots Left, Join"

Not a virus, simply a “Text Replacement”. To change or delete it, go to Settings - General - Keyboards - Text Replacement …… change or delete from there as required.

It was my kid. Noticed a few others he had done while I was in there. He must've been 10. Now he's 20. LOL
