MacBook Pro (2015) cannot connect to the Internet via Wifi.

I have an Apple MacBook Pro (early 2015, 13 inch Retina, 2.9 GHZ Dual Intel Core i5 Processor) that lost it's connection to the internet after I installed the Monterey Version 12.6.7 update. The laptop was able to access the internet before the update. It sees the Wifi or hotspot, but cannot reach the DHCP server to obtain an IP address. It self-assigns an IP address (169.254.83.126). An "!" appears on the top bar where the Wifi symbol appears. Others devices do not have any issues connecting. Turning off the device or router does not help. I removed Mcafee and that did not help. Could this be a firewall issue? Please help!

Please review all the suggestions in Connect to the internet with your Mac - Apple Support first.

As it explains:

"Learn what to do if your Mac doesn't connect to the internet after joining the Wi-Fi network."

I removed Mcafee and that did not help.

Make sure you followed its uninstallation instructions, confirm that they were effective, and confirm all remnants of its previous existence are permanently and irrevocably gone.

Could this be a firewall issue?

Not if you are referring to the macOS application firewall, no. If you are referring to any other third party "firewall" or similarly categorized products, sure. Don't use them.
