Working with TextEdit
How do I delete TextEdit documents? I find no Delete Document or Move to Trash commands. This is not covered in the TextEdit Help. If I drag the document to the Trash, it stays in the Trash after it is emptied.

Thanks for your reply. When I did what you describe, the file was still in the trash. It was still there after a restart. This problem has come up before, with no responses. I once had a nifty little app which dealt with files that got stuck in the trash. Incompatible with current OS's.
I suppose this complaint actually describes two different problems. One is the "file stuck in the trash" problem. The other is a complaint that the TextEdit interface is less convenient than it could be.
Close it, throw it away in the Finder, and empty the Trash.
