M2 Macbook Pro Battery Smell

Hello,

I picked up a new M2 Macbook Pro 14" about 2 months ago, but recently have been smelling from the computer and the sleeve I store it in almost like a fruity sweet smell.

I had an iPad before with a battery that was swollen open, and it smells similar to that.

However, the computer still says that the battery health is at normal and 100% and hasn't degraded at all.

I am just worried with this being an issue, especially as the mac is so new, and my time to purchase applecare is expiring in 9 days.

I haven't run the computer to excess to cause any major heat to be coming from the computer, and if the fans have been running, I honestly haven't been able to tell.

(p.s. I bought the mac at an apple store in the US, but I live + work abroad in a country where there is no apple store available).

Thank you so much for your help in advance.

Try without the sleeve and compare your results...

You have a 1-yr warranty on all new purchase.
