Older ipad will not display url when JavaScript is already enabled

A friend has an ipad2 - it has been updated to iOS 9.3.5. All works ok, BUT for some reason, even though he does have enable JavaScript enabled, it does not open html file containing JavaScript. The page opens, but only to a blank browser window.? Help

iOS 9.3.5. is ancient and probably they do stuff in the code, that nobody did in 2015.

You could try to disable JS and maybe see something. But many websites are highly optimized and have no No-JS Fallback. But mostly no pictures are shown because of the use of webp images.

If you have it in your Appstore History, try to install Opera Mini. It uses server-side compression and many sites work there. If not, you`re out of luck because it is not searchable anymore. Puffin Browser works on some sites a little better. You should also install everything that is installable till now. Spotify for example works on my iPad 4 iOS 10.3.3.

Very useful is RD Client to connect to a Windows Computer and use it as a remote Monitor. With Duet Display you could use it as a second Monitor. Unified Remote is nice, you can control a Computer with it or for Macs use BetterTouchTool.

At least the Podcast App or Mail works. Maybe you can do more with a Jbreak.
