Mac Studio & Ventura 13.5.1 after login loading bar freezes then reboots

This morning I did a small update to 13.5.1 and after the reboot noticed an issue that I have never seen before. The Mac Studio boots up quickly to the login screen as always, once I log in with my credentials the loading bar starts and then stops at about 2-5%, freezes for a minute or so and then reboots the Mac Studio. This then repeats 3-4 times before it seems to then progress past this point to the desktop.

I am lost as to what is going on? I have not installed any new software and don't have a ton of login items installed, maybe a couple that have been working fine. Any ideas? Suggestions to try?

The Mac is still under Warranty but it seems if it gets to the login screen, the OS is loaded already. Once it is at the desktop, everything runs fine.

no that is not accurate for recent Macs.

all that is unlocked initially is the Accounts database, to allow your user-id to be looked up. MacOS MAY still be in an ecrypted state. Your files may be in an excepted state. MacOS does not finish loading until AFTER you enter the password.

--------

My recommendation is to use Disk Utility to repair your disk. If it will not work "live", run it from Recovery, or invoke Safe Mode, where it will run a repair as it boots up.

I don't have a good idea of what might be happening.

I recommend you run the little discovery Utility, EtreCheck. It fixes NOTHING. it sole reason to exist is to collect as much anonymous information about your Mac from the inside as is reasonable, and produce a 'clean' report that can be posted back to the forums for analysis.
