Can’t delete a reoccurring invitation on iPhone calendar

I have an iPhone 14 max pro. I clicked on a bad link on Facebook messenger. I then started to receive a reoccurring invitation on my calendar that spans for years. It doesn’t give me an option to delete. Only to decline the message and when I click that, the only option is to save for one invitation or all. Then it does nothing. The invitation had about 500 other emails attached. Also everything is red. Please help!

Delete spam calendars and events on iPhone - Apple Support

I've had the same issue. It looks like these get imported from other calendars, try this... go to Settings -> Calendar -> Accounts -> (you'll see iCloud and other accounts like gmail, or Outlook. For example, open the Outlook tab, go down to calendar, slide it over and it will give you the option to delete the calendar.

That's the only thing that seems to work, otherwise all the other options won't because you don't see the delete options at the bottom of the invitations.

There is likely a virus or some new issue in the Outlook or other email account that you are using. The odd thing is that if you look at that email on another device you won't see it on your calendar on that device so it must have been added by some junk email...

I have a recurring invite that shows declined, but it is NOT spam and I cannot delete the calendar I received it from it I will miss future events.

there really needs to be a way to get this off of iOS. It does not appear anymore in outlook.

Please fix this and advise how to stop this recurring event, which was a painful one, from showing weekly for the rest of my life.

I am also having this issue.... spam emails with calendar invitations are creating events in my calendar - looks like I have back to back to back meetings for a week. Outlook LITERALLY placed these emails in my spam folder, and then proceeded to have the genious idea of allowing them to automatically post their invitation to my calendar. Apple *should* allow us the option of deleting and blocking these; or at least let us set our calendar to not post invitations unless they come from our contacts! So stupid. I hope they pay attention. The current method of simply deleting the calendar doesn't work because the calendar is the one from iPhone itself, or so it appears. It's literally the Outlook calendar. Why would any of us want to delete this calendar just to eliminate the problem? It's not a calendar placed there by the spammer. I have other events I do not wish to lose recorded on my Outlook calendar. And now this problem. Huge disruption to everyday life.
