Preserving camera preferences in Settings

I have had an iPhone 12 Pro for years and a 13 for over a year, and just a few days ago the camera started using Live (which I think is a useless feature) and changing the exposure even when I turned them off in Settings. Each time I open the camera those feature become active EVEN WHEN they are turned off permanently in Settings. I have missed a few good foto-ops because I had to manually turn them off FOR EVERY SHOT… no kidding! Also the flash keeps reactivating when I open the camera app. Does anyone know a hack ⛏️or someone at Apple that I can contact? 🍏

Go to Settings/Camera/Preserve Settings and turn on the switches for the settings you don’t want to change between uses of the camera.
