Google Docs Suggestions Feature SLOW

I use google docs for timed job tasks from my iPad Pro. I cannot switch applications—the format was chosen by my employer. I have a Bluetooth keyboard, and have no issues with typing speed or the keyboard outside of this. For over a year now, google docs will start slowing down as soon as I put it in suggestion mode. At first it’s fine, but usually within 5 minutes it’s so slow that it takes 3-5 seconds for each letter to appear AND some get skipped, so I have to go back and fix the already super slow edits. When it’s not in suggestion mode, google docs works fine. I can’t find anything about this on google docs forums or apple forums. I’ve tried: clearing my browser cache, deleting and re-installing the google docs app, restarting my ipad, updating my ipad software, deleting and reinstalling grammarly (also necessary for my job), turning the grammarly keyboard off, etc. Nothing fixes it for long. The other day out of nowhere, I was able to type at a normal speed and I was shocked at how quickly I was able to complete work. Since then, I’m back to a snail’s pace and it’s even more frustrating than before. I would love some help here.
