Thunderbolt Bridge not working on Ventura 13.5

Hello there,

I would like to connect my two devices(Host-M1 Max Mac Studio & Client-M1 Mac Mini) using thunderbolt 3 cable and thunderbolt bridge.

I've tried adding file sharing and then adding thunderbolt bridge on both end, connecting two device using different cables. But the Thunderbolt Bridge Service always showing not connect(red dot).

I have tried using safe mode on both machine to eliminate any login item conflict. I have also tried removing any other thunderbolt connection on Mac Studio.

Hello HankTsai,

You should be able to connect the Mac computers by Thunderbolt by following these steps found at Use IP over Thunderbolt to connect Mac computers - Apple Support:

When you connect computers using a Thunderbolt cable, by default the computers receive IP addresses using DHCP. If needed, you can enter an IPv4 address manually.

1. Connect a Thunderbolt cable to the Thunderbolt ports on the computers you want to connect.
2. On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > System Settings, then click Network  in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
3. Click the Thunderbolt Bridge service on the right, then click Details.
4. If you don’t see a Thunderbolt Bridge service, you need to add one. See Set up a network service.
5. If you need to enter an IP address, click TCP/IP, click the Configure IPv4 pop-up menu, choose an option, then enter the IPv4 address in the IP address field.
6. If needed, you can also enter a subnet mask and router address.
7. If you need to enter DNS or search domain addresses, click DNS, then enter the addresses.
8. Click OK.

To transfer files between the computers, open a Finder window on one Mac, click Network below Locations in the Finder sidebar, double-click the icon for the other Mac, click Connect As, select a connection option, then click Connect. If you don’t see the other Mac, make sure it has file sharing turned on.

Have a good day.
