Many new episodes on Apple TV fail to play on LG TV

Older episodes/shows continue to play, but we first noticed that H/jack episode 1 didn't play - it would start, do 2-5 seconds and then give an error. Ted Lasso worked fine until S2 E9, which incidently warned of strobing lights. Invasion, E1 which also warns of strobing lights also fails.

The error message: "Video Not Available - There's a problem loading this video. If this continues, check your internet connection."

It's repeatable and content-specific, so I'm pretty sure it's not the internet connection.

Suggestions?
