Hi,
You would need to get FireWire(IEEE1394) to USB-C adapter if your Digital Video Corder has FIreWire port.

I believe that adapter is for Thunderbolt 1/2, which lived on Mini DisplayPort connectors. If you wanted to hook up a MiniDV or Digital8 camcorder to a modern Mac that has Thunderbolt 3 or 4 ports, you'd need to daisy-chain the Apple TB3-to-2 adapter and the Apple TB-to-FW800 adapter.

Then take into account what type of Firewire port the camcorder has. A camcorder might have one of the FW400 ports that does not have power pins (what Sony called iLink).
