How do you disable the drag to top function?

I don’t want Mission control to pop up when I drag a window to the top edge of the screen.

You may try to explain in more details what you mean by " drag a window to the top edge of the screen "

refer to below link

Use Mission Control on your Mac - Apple Support

In below images ( 2 ) , I used the F3 key to bring up Mission Control. There are other ways but that is what I use.

Right now I have 1 Desktop

I have Mail and Safari open and assigned to the 1 Desktop.

You can have more than one Desktop and assigning each Application to a separate Desktop.

When I try to drag a window, in my case Safari noting happens as it is already assigned to Desktop

Though, If I have a second Desktop and Drag Safari to that New Desktop - presto Safari would now appear in Desktop 2 and be removed from Desktop 1
