Airtag won’t connect and can’t reset it

Hello

I have an Airtag that needed a battery change, done that with a reset and it worked ok.

After a couple of days, the app can't locate it and it won't send any peep sound to find it.

I tried all options but it still can't be located.

I tried to do a hard reset and deleted the old one to have it set up as new.

Once I have deleted the old airbag and opened the battery to reset it, it can't be reset. No sounds came of the Airtag with the 5 times battery hard reset step. Now, no sounds are coming of the Airtag the indicates it's doing the hard reset and it can't be connected to the iPhone.

Tried all the steps mentioned:

  • Resetting the network setting in the iPhone
  • On and Off the Bluetooth and Wifi
  • Delete all Bluetooth-connected devices
  • Shutdown the iPhone to refresh it
  • two-way verification
  • location setting

nothing worked

Any suggestions?

Appears that you pretty much exhausted everything that is possible you can do to get this AirTag to work again. It just may be that this tag may now be faulty. I'm sure that you verified that the replacement battery you are using does not have a bitterant coating ... correct?

If so, all I can offer is that your next step would be to contact Apple Support directly to see if there is any other troubleshooting steps that may have been missed. To do so, simply select the "Support" link on the lower left-hand side of this forum's web page.
