Split View quit working on my iPad.

My iPad started acting differently yesterday. Split View

quit working.  Swipe off quit working. There are (new) floating icons on

the left. A newly resized window has a little wedge at bottom of windows that

resizes the window.  Windows float around,

under or over but will not combine into Split View when placed next to each

other.  The windows open small and must

be resized often.

It's an iPad Pro 2019 with iOS 16.6 software update not too

long ago. The screen is not broken, still responding to touch & to Apple

pencil. It has 133GB of storage available. I have restarted it several times,

turned it off overnight. It’s not plugged in to anything except power source.

And I even disconnected the Bluetooth keyboard.

Screen capture below of me trying to get the windows into Split View or

to Swipe of the screen.

This looks like you are using Stage Manager. Not sure if you turned this on and it just started working but you can turn this off and it should correct the issue that you are having. Goto Settings > Home Screen & Multitasking and then toward the bottom you’ll see “Stage Manager” turn the switch to off and see if that corrects your issue.
