If Excel or any other program disappears when you're trying to switch between programs on your iMac, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can take to resolve the issue.
1. Mission Control: Use Mission Control to see if the application window is still open. To access Mission Control, swipe up with three or four fingers on your trackpad, press the F3 key, or double-tap with two fingers on your Magic Mouse.
2. Switch Between Apps: Use `Command + Tab` to cycle through open applications. Does Excel reappear when you do this?
3. Check Dock: Look at the Dock to see if Excel (or the program in question) is still running. A dot should appear below the icon if it is active.
4. Right-Click on App Icon: Right-click (or control-click) on the Excel icon in the Dock and choose 'Show All Windows' to bring any hidden Excel windows to the forefront.
5. Restart the Program: If none of these steps work, try quitting Excel and reopening it to see if the issue persists.
6. Update macOS and Excel: Make sure that your macOS and Microsoft Excel are up-to-date. Outdated software can sometimes cause glitches.
