Vertical Grey Line on MacBook Air M2 Screen

Hello everyone,

I've encountered an issue with my MacBook Air M2 (purchased in July 2022) : a single vertical grey line has appeared on the screen. My MacBook hasn't suffered any physical damage and functions normally. I've also ensured that I'm running the latest macOS update.

Though it works fine, the line worries me. I'm apprehensive that this single line could potentially develop into multiple lines or escalate into more severe problems.

Has anyone else encountered a similar issue? Do you have any suggestions for resolving it? My warranty has expired, so repairs are not covered. I've come across reviews that suggest repair costs could be around $300..

Take A Screen Shot Take screenshots or screen recordings on Mac - Apple Support (CA) specific to where the Vertical Line is appearing.

Does it appear in the Screen Shot ?

If Yes, the be prudent

You can have them do quick look see for free 🤞

Then decide from there what cause of action is required

Then have a few suggestions ;

1 - Have the computer evaluated by the Professionals who have the Special Hardware Software and Expertise to diagnose the issue and offer possible solutions

2 - Make an Appointment at the Apple Genius Bar and have them evaluate the computer

The lead that controls that column of pixels in your display has failed. I have the same issue with my iMac that appeared about a year ago, with no other columns dying yet. The only fix is to replace the display.
