How to Stop the USB C cable to transfer the electric to my ipad during the Handoff process (mirroring/extended display)

i connect my macbook to ipad so i can run the "handoff feature" well. But it makes the battery of my macbook drained. can i stop the usb cable so it will not transfer any electric to my ipad?


doing "handoof feature" without usb cable is so frustating, it is always disconnected for many times.

No. There is no way to overcharge the batteries. The Mac and iPad will stop charging when they reach 100%.


If Optimized charging is turned on, the Mac and iPad can hold the charging process at around 80%, and only charge to 100%, when they know you are going to disconnect them, after learning your routine for a few days.

It is fine to keep them plugged in. If the power goes out, they will use battery power normally.


To avoid power surges when the power comes back, use a regulated PSU to to protect the devices.
