Youtube downloads on Safari

Everything I have looked up is 10+ years old and outdated. I have a YouTube Premium subscription. On Safari, there is no "download" button, but there is on my Google Chrome browser. I have checked settings, allowed downloads for YouTube.com, restarted Safari, and restarted my Mac. No button. Kind of sucks being that Safari is my main browser I use. Any solution? Thanks.

Confirmed what Lissy said - Google says they don't support downloads in Safari. Pretty much any other browser, yes, but Safari, no. Contact the SEC and file an antitrust complaint if you have the energy - seems like government regulation is the only thing that will work with these money grubbing bean counting robber-barons. Do I sound angry?

Edit: You can submit antitrust complaints online with the FTC: https://www.ftc.gov/enforcement/report-antitrust-violation

Hi Jordan_176,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities! We were able to locate the details from the YouTube Help page below and it seems that feature is not available for Safari as noted below:

Watch videos offline with YouTube Premium

If YouTube Premium is available in your location, you can download and watch videos on your mobile device. You can also download videos from your computer using Chrome, Edge, Firefox & Opera browsers. We hope to bring this feature to other browsers in the future.

Hope this helps!

Have a great day.
