My “shared” notes do not go into my SHARED folder when I send a copy to recipient I want to share with.

I cannot “shared” notes to appear in my shared folder - like they used to. What has changed in recent IOS updates?

Windows, Windows 10

Hi Beats_user_stuff,

You started from a great resource: If you can't share or collaborate in the Notes app on your iPhone or iPad

The notes included on your post state you're using Windows 10. If this is the case, the article you started from does mention the following:

"Make sure that you and the person you're trying to share or collaborate with have the latest version of iOS or iPadOS on your iPhone or iPad or the latest version of macOS on your Mac. You can't collaborate on notes with someone using a non-Apple device."

However, if both of you are on a fully updated Apple device make sure the note isn't password protected and follow the additional steps for sharing.

"Make sure that you're sharing with other Apple accounts

In the Notes app, you can invite your contacts to collaborate on a note. You can also send a copy of a note through apps like Mail or Messages. To start a collaboration with Messages, make sure that your contact is signed in to iCloud and can receive iMessages.

To share a note:

  1. Open the note you want to share.
  2. Tap the Share button
  3. In the menu, choose whether you want to send a copy or invite your contact to collaborate on the note. Up to 100 people can collaborate on a note.*
  4. Tap an app like Mail or Messages and send the note to your contacts. "

If all setting are correct, check out the information below from the article here on how shared notes look in a folder: Organize your notes in folders on iPhone - Apple Support

"Create, rename, move, or delete a folder

The folder list with the search field at the top.

In the folders list, do any of the following:

  • Create a folder: Tap the New Folder button, choose an account (if you have more than one), tap New Folder, then enter a name.
  • Create a subfolder: Touch and hold a folder, then drag it onto another folder.
  • Rename a folder: Touch and hold a folder, tap Rename, then enter a new name.
  • Move a folder: Swipe left on the folder, tap the Move Folder button, then choose a new location. Or touch and hold the folder, then drag it to a new location. The folder becomes a subfolder if you drag it onto another folder.
  • Delete a folder: Swipe left on the folder, then tap the Delete Folder button. Or touch and hold the folder, then tap Delete.
  • If you change your mind, open the Recently Deleted folder to recover the notes."

If the issue remains where you're not seeing the folder and all your settings are correct on both your device and the person you're sharing with, contact Apple Support directly to further assist.
