Details of Contacts cards no longer show up in Contacts

Open Contacts, select a contact. Details of the contact (email, phone, address, etc) do not show up.

Double click to open card in another window, all details show up.

Didn't used to be like this. Don't like. Can't figure out how to fix.

Contact card disappeared when creating a new contact I have had repeated problems creating new contact cards in the Contacts application. I'm using a new MacOS 13.3 (Ventura) Macbook Pro. I begin creating a new contact card, and after entering information in a few fields the new card suddenly disappears before I finish adding information. Typically I can get through the "first name" and "last name" and maybe start to add a phone number, and then suddenly the card disappears. When using it through my iPhone its not a problem. I did re install software but its the same. I never had this issue previous MacBook. Need help fixing this issue.

problems adding contacts in MacBook pro macOS 12.6 i can't add contacts to MacBook pro. when i add a card and start typing the system abruptly switches to a different card. i notice that others are having the same problem and the response is to do exactly what they say, and what i have always done, but it doesnt work. this has been going on for months. please fix it on your next update! I have been using macs since the 1980s so am not new to the machine. surely you can fix it.

Contacts app The Contacts app is not working. When I press the Contacts icon on home page only shows “Lists” and how msny contacts there are. Contacts do not show up on usual cards.

You need to hit " edit " in the box , upper right .
