Apple Account Not enabled for in-app payments

I recently encountered an unusual issue while attempting to make an in-app purchase using my Apple account balance. Despite having a sufficient balance of $5.01, I found that the option to use my Apple Account as a payment method was greyed out, stating it was "Not enabled for in-app payments." This is perplexing as I've successfully used this method before. I've diligently checked my Apple ID payment settings, ensured that in-app purchases are allowed in Content & Privacy Restrictions, and updated both the game app and my iOS to the latest versions. Unfortunately, the problem persists. Could anyone provide insights into this matter? Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. You have an app called Wallet and you have an app called Settings.The Settings app allows you to access your Apple ID Account and make purchases for Apple products and services.

Your Wallet app allows you to make purchases, transfer funds, pay at merchants etc.

hello! i’m not sure if it’s the same screen but i was having the same issue for the apple store app. when i reached checkout, and the total showed up with the apple pay button, i got the same error saying “not enabled for in app purchase.” but before i clicked apple pay, there was a little section right below the total, saying “apply your balance.” this allowed me to use my apple account balance for the apple store app. i hope maybe this helps for the app store!

What are you trying to do, purchase products and services from Apple? If so that requires you add a payment method to your Apple ID Account. I’ve linked an Apple Support article below that explains the steps to add a payment method.

Do you have a debit card in you Apple ID Account? If not, you may need to add one as a backup payment method. Credit and debit cards also serve as proof of age for age restricted content.
