Trying to add a transit card (Suica) to my wallet and pay for it with a Wise card debit card with Japanese yet which is also in my wallet and it's not working. Any reason why?

Please contact SUICA support team. There are multiple reports of issues with payments. Several community members have mentioned only American Express cards are currently working. Several have said only Visa is not working.
Thanks Jeff, contacting them is proving difficult as they are not displaying an email address. Will try my luck with another transit card and see if any better
There are also reports that in some countries, payments couldn’t be made until they were in Japan.
Thanks, that worked! Shame I couldn’t use my travel debit card that had japanese yen on it. Do you know if once in Japan I can top my digital Suica card at a machine with my Visa or will it likely still not work?
That may be your best path forward, at least temporarily. Are you currently in Japan?
No, I’m in Australia which is why I’d like to organise things ahead for smooth travels
Station kiosk/ATM/convenience store top up is cash only.
