I go onto the Wallet app and try to add an Apple account card onto it. There is no such option. Instead, the only two available options is “Debit and Credit card” and “Travel card”. It might be useful to know that my region is set as UK. I have iOS 16.5

Your iPhone is probably not set to the U.S. The Apple Card is only available in the US to US citizens or legal residents with a physical address.
