You are off to a great start. However, you cannot purchase from Apple School Manager. Apple School Manager is a chain of custody tool for hard and soft assets. It is also the bridge to your MDM and identity provider.

As an EDU customer, you will need to make your purchases through Apple Education Sales. This is the only official sales channel for EDU customers. Start here: Higher Education - How to Buy - Apple

If you don't have an EDU rep yet, call 1-800-800-2775 (I am assuming you are in the US) and ask for your reps contact information.

Once you have all your information setup, you can request a custom eCommerce store. https://ecommerce.apple.com/. Talk to your EDU rep to get this setup. You will be able to establish terms and this will ensure that you can place orders from a custom online store. Make sure you mention to your rep that you have ASM setup and have them confirm that your Apple customer ID matches across all services. This will ensure that hardware purchases are properly assigned to your organization.

Hope this is helpful,
