Touch ID
Purchased a new Mac Mini M2 last month. Bought the magic keyboard for touch ID. Set it up and it works fine. Mac sleeps. Wake it and touch ID no longer works. I have erased and reset the finger ID many times. I have used different fingers. My fingers are clean and it sets up correctly and works each time until it sleeps. The rest of the keyboard functions work great. All my bluetooth settings are fine and all my other bluetooth accessories work flawlessly.
Called support. Got case #. Walked me through settings to change things that "might" be the problem. No change. Conclusion was probably a bad keyboard. Exchanged it for new. Same thing.
Have read a few threads here that had similar problems. I mentioned that to the genius bar when I exchanged and the support person on the phone. Both said they had not heard that is a common problem and yet you can find a number of threads here outlining that exact or very similar problem.
Not sure how to proceed. Assume Apple will notice and catch it in an update or give up and exchange the magic keyboard for a regular one and turn off the touch ID.
Thoughts?
