Do not disturb allowing block calls

I currently have my phone on dnd and I have also turned off the button that allows repeated calls to come through, but when my phone is on dnd and person is not able to reach me, if they call me block it still comes through ( while my phone is on DND). I’m so confused because it makes the person think I blocked them, when really my phone is on DND and I’m I don’t know how the block call still came through. Anyonee know the reason for this???

Hi mesha257,

If certain phone numbers are still coming through even with Do Not Disturb enabled, we would recommend creating your own custom Focus next. This will allow you to choose which specific contacts are able to reach out to you and should not let other phone numbers or contacts not selected contact you. These steps from Use Focus on your iPhone or iPad walk you through how to do this:

Set up a custom Focus

If you want to concentrate on an activity that's different from any of the provided Focus options, you can create a Custom Focus.
iPhone screen showing how to create a custom Focus.
1. Go to Settings > Focus.
2. Tap the Add button , then tap Custom or browse additional options.
3. Enter a name for your Focus.
4. Choose a color and an icon to represent your Focus, then tap Next.
5. Customize the options for your Focus.

If you are trying to accomplish something else or this continues while using a custom Focus, please provide us with more details so that we can continue to assist.

Cheers!

Hello mesha257,

We're not quite sure the we are understating you, so just to clarify: You have some blocked contacts that can still call you when you are using Do Not Disturb. Is that correct?

The following support articles can help to make sure everything is configured on your iPhone properly:

In addition, as with all unexpected iPhone behavior, try taking the following steps which may help with this: restart your iPhone and make sure it is up to date.

Restart your iPhone

“1. Press and hold either volume button and the side button until the power-off slider appears.

2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.

3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button (on the right side of your iPhone) until you see the Apple logo."

Update your iPhone or iPad

“1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.

2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.

3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.

4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.

5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now."

We hope this helps. Let us know if we can assist with anything else at all. Take care.

No they are not block, but in order for their calls to come through while my phone is set on DND, they call me block and the phone rings. I’m confused because I thought DND stops all calls, but it’s allowing people who call block (*67) to come through. I just want to know if this is normal, like is it some type of emergency setting or something? My phone is currently updated to the lastest iOS version, but I will also try restarting the phone.
