iTunes doesn't log in after entering password

I am having trouble logging into iTunes on my mac. Every time I go to log into iTunes for music or movies, I enter my apple id and password (correctly) and all it says is "There is a temporary problem completing your request. Try again later." It doesn't say or do anything else. It's an old computer (From 2013) and is updated to OS X Catalina (the newest os the computer can run), but everything else works, as far as I can tell. (I received the computer second hand.)

Hello ApatheticEntity,

We have a great support article that might help with this. Please take a look at it here: If you have problems using the iTunes Store on Mac - Apple Support. Follow this guidance from the page:

      • "If you see a message that your computer can’t connect to the iTunes Store, click iTunes Store again. (If you don’t see iTunes Store in the sidebar, choose Music > Settings, click General, make sure iTunes Store is selected, then click OK.) If your computer still doesn’t connect, make sure your internet connection is working—open a web browser and visit a website. If your internet connection is OK, there may be a problem with the iTunes Store. Try visiting the store again later.

      • Make sure your computer’s date, time, and time zone are set correctly.
      • Make sure your account information is accurate and that you don’t need to correct a problem with a previous purchase. Choose Account > Account Settings, then sign in (if necessary). To verify your account information, click Manage Payments next to Payment Information. See the Apple Support article If you need to change or update your Apple ID payment method.
      • Make sure the iTunes Store is available in your country or region. See the Apple Support article Availability of Apple Media Services."

We hope this helps. Let us know if we can assist with anything else at all. Take care.
