can't login to iTunes

No matter what I do I am unable to login to iTunes on my iMac (10.15.7 latest version). I keep getting this error

There was a temporary problem completing your request. The network connection was lost.

Try again later

I have no problem using my Apple ID elsewhere so I need another answer other than make sure you're using the latest software, reboot...and so on. Why is this happening specifically and how do I fix it.

Thank you

iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.15

Here are a variety of resources helping with connectivity issues:

If you can't connect to the App Store, iTunes Store, or other Apple services, read this support article --> If you can't connect to the App Store, iTunes Store, or other Apple services - Apple Support

- If none of the suggestions work, try the last one: "If you’ve tried all of the above steps and you still can’t connect, contact Apple Support."

Here's a related article about what to do if you can't connect or sign in to iCloud --> If you can't connect or sign in to iCloud - Apple Support

Here's a case where using a VPN prevented sign-in --> Update - Apple Community

If you can connect everywhere else then it sounds like your wi-fi service may be sporadic at that location.

If none of the resources provide a solution, contact Apple for assistance:

For support, click here --> Choose your country or region - Official Apple Support Select your country, then a product. If you don't see one that handles your issue then keep experimenting with selections until you reach one that gets you a chat session or a telephone call and get the representative to redirect you.

Same here. I can log into AppleTV and use it from Roku, my LG TV, and even watch AppleTV on my Mac. But if I try to log into my account settings from my Mac I get the same error. I can literally be watching AppleTV on my Mac without a problem but if I try to log into Account Settings, while AppleTV is playing or just from within the app without watching, I get the error.

Anyone ever find a solution to this?
