MacBook Air is asking for Touch ID password but I don't remember setting it

After setting up my mac book air, it is asking password to enable touch Id. i don't remember setting a password for touch id. How to reset the password as there is no option being displayed for password resetting.

pse help me.

Reset your login password using your Apple ID


Click the arrow next to “reset it using your Apple ID.” If you don't see an arrow , see the Apple Support article If you can't reset your Mac login password. Enter an Apple ID and password, then click Next. Follow the instructions to reset your login password.
