Thunderbolt cable easily disconnecting on regular basis?
No matter what Thunderbolt cable I have used on my iMac when I tilt the monitor the connection to my mass storage is lost and the disks are unmounted and ejected unceremoniously = BAD!!
This was never an issue with SCSI cables.
Has anyone found a way to keep Thunderbolt cables from moving at the slightest touch. In this case the issue is with the computer side of the connection, iMac, PowerBook and MacMini Thunderbolt ports.
Some companies have come out with solutions for their devices to solve this issue:
Unfortunately randomly drilling a hole and tapping to receive one of these stabilizing devices isn't what I would call an easy job on an iMac, MacBook or MacMini.
Apple doesn't look at these posts however users do and I would be curious how many have the same issue. Over the years I have wondered when Apple will fix this cable's design flaw using something like a recessed port - however then the OD of the cable end would have to have been standardized. Even 1/8" recess into would allow some support.
