Audio not exporting correctly with final cut pro

Hello, I'm new to using final cut Pro and am currently on a 90 day trial. I've just completed my first video, a travel vlog. When I went to export the video and watched it over I noticed there were a few patches of audio missing. For a few seconds, audio from a clip would stop. Not all the audio from that clip, but just a few seconds of it. This happened several times throughout the video on different clips.

I tried to look for answers online and found suggestions to replace the clip. So I went back and deleted the clip that was losing audio, then re-added that clip. When I exported the file it seemed to be fixed. I only changed 1 clip over but even other clips that had issues weren't losing audio anymore. I thought it was all fine again until I kept watching, and found a new part of the video has now lost audio. This seems random, but it's in the same place each time I export unless I make a change to the video before exporting again.

Does anyone know what might be causing this or how I can fix it? Does final cut often have random bugs like this? I enjoyed editing with it but have never had an issue with Adobe so might need to go back to that if there isn't a reason to explain why this is happening.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks Terry! It turns out it was a 3rd party Goyo audio plugin that was causing it. Still a little strange as it only happened on a few of the clips I used it on, and only in small parts of the clips. But removing it from those clips was enough and luckily the audio on those clips was okay without needing Goyo.

I've not used media from that camera before but the specs look pretty vanilla so there really shouldn't be any issues.

When you playback the timeline, does the audio play correctly in all the spots where it's not playing in the exported file?

Are there any effects applied to the clips? 3rd party or otherwise?

Do you have at least 15% available disk space on your system drive? Also, if you're exporting to an external drive, does it have at least 10% available? If the library is on an external drive, how is the drive formatted? It must be HFS+ if it's a spinning disk and APFS if it's an SSD.

It's possible the project (aka, timeline) has become corrupt somehow. A possible fix is to select everything on the timeline, copy, then paste into a new project. This can sometimes clear subtle corruption in a project.

Another easy thing to try is resetting FCP preferences. Hold Option and Command while launching FCP and choose Delete Preferences. It will open the default Untitled library. Re-open the library you were working on, set the Preferences back to the way you like them (disable background rendering, reset Import to Leave Files in Place, etc.) and see if the issue has been resolved.
