Why are my iMessages blue when the settings are correctly turned on?

Why are my iMessages blue when the settings are correctly turned on? I checked my iMessage settings and they are turned on and I restarted my phone, but still my messages are blue. What can I do?

Blue is “good” … it means that you’re communicating securely via iMessage to another Apple user.

Green indicates an insecure SMS or MMS “text” … generally to/from an Android user.
