CarPlay no sound when making phone calls

Everything works though CarPlay, I can call up Siri, dictate messages, play music. But as soon as I get a call or make a call, dead silence. No one can hear me and I can’t hear anything. If I switch the sound to my phones speaker or airpods everything is fine, but switching back to carplay, silence. I can’t switch back and forth between CarPlay and speaker/airpods/cars own Bluetooth, and I get sound on everything else, but CarPlay - nothing. Everything is up to date, reset everything and started over. No dice.
