How do you toggle Overtype mode in web browsers

Hello I have started the journey to making the conversion from PC to Apple. I recently purchased a Macbook Pro and from time to time do code editing. Often I would just hit the insert key in Microsoft Edge to enable the overtype mode but when I do it now nothing happens... Is there a shortcut that I'm not using or is there a different Apple supported browser like Safari incorporate the overtype feature? Appreciate any and all help you could provide
