I have MacBook Air and I see rubber seal around screen. But I don’t know composition this rubber seal. And I read that rubber seal can burst, some time ago. How often can rubber seal broke? May be you know composition?
It's not going to burst; that implies some sort of minor explosion.
It will simply degrade slowly with age and there is no way to predict that rate of change.

I think it's just aging of rubber seal. If you concern about it, contact Apple Support and ask about it.
"Rubber" does not degrade catastrophically; it'll just slowly soften and become easy to "dig" out with your fingernail.
