Is it me, or is Apple Music really just not that good?

This isn't clickbait.

Ok, so you have a deep and wide library at your disposal; that's great.

But why is everything else so poorly executed? What's the point of Apple's "Discovery Station" if it just plays 85% of songs already in my library? Why are the radio stations playlists – at least for me – bordering on objectionable. And there doesn't seem to be a clear way of tuning those stations more to your liking. And why don't they have an option to "exclude songs in your library"?

I don't get it.

I could "thumbs down" something in Pandora to indicate I didn't like that track to train/tune a playlist, and it was clear that the action was contextual to a specific playlist/station. I cannot find any clear documentation that states how Apple Music treats a track you dislike. Is it for the station? Is it for all of Apple Music? Does anyone know? How do I undo those actions if I change my mind?

I was expecting so much more out of this, but maybe my expectations are out of alignment with reality. I cancelled Pandora to try Apple Music, but I'm so disappointed in "discovery" and all of the stations, I'm cancelling the service.

So disappointing.
