Your network preferences prevent content from loading privately

All of a sudden, I'm getting the following message in my email on my Mac

"Your network preferences prevent content from loading privately"

It is asking me to "Load Content Directly" if I want to see images in my email. How do I fix it?

Thanks, Cary

In Mac OS 14 Sonoma: open preferences, select "Network" from the left preference panel, On the Right side panel displayed under Networks, select "Details" under your chosen network, within the pop-up "Details" look for the toggle switch "limit IP address tracking." If "limit IP address tracking is switched on, this will prevent certain content from loading within your Apple Mail unless you choose "load remote content" every time you want to over ride the this privacy setting. By switching "limit IP address tracking" to the off position your problem may be solved. At least, this works on my MacBook Pro M1 Max with OS Sonoma. Hope this helps you.

Give this a try: boot into Safe Mode according to How to use safe mode on your Mac and test to see if the problem persists. Reboot normally and test again.

NOTE 1: Safe Mode boot can take up to 3 - 5 minutes as it's doing the following;

• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)

• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically

• Disables user-installed fonts

• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

NOTE 2: if you have a wireless keyboard with rechargeable batteries connect it with its charging cable before booting into Safe Mode. This makes it act as a wired keyboard as will insure a successful boot into Safe Mode.
