Hi all - I need to ship my old iMac abroad (Italy) so I can work from there every now and then when I go visit my family.
What's the best way to ship it? Any dedicated courier does that? And if not can I bring it onboard with me on any flight?

I know that, but those companies may also have the capability to ship individual pieces. Have you inquired with any? Shipping is shipping and each company can have multiple departments.
There's always FedEx and UPS and a host of other package delivery companies.
Have a Time Machine backup before you ship it, but don't ship the TM backup with it, and ensure it for the full replacment cost if lost or damaged. No idea who ships (reliably from UK to Italy though. Will Italy attempt to charge you import duties at their customs?
Depending on what you find the costs for shipping to and from Italy, you may be better off getting a laptop, i.e. MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, etc., and take it with you on the plane both ways. Just some food for thought.
