Apple TV+ Navigation

I've been using Apple TV via browser for over a year. Firefox and Chrome. The accessibility and design of the site is absolutely terrible to use. Let's say I want to watch an episode of a show. If the episode I want to watch isn't on "Up Next", I cannot access the show without using the search bar up top. It's essentially hidden. If I want to see an episode list, I also have to search. If it is on the front under "Up Next", I cannot simply click on the title to see a list of information on the show, it only plays that episode. If I am playing an episode I cannot click anything visible to take me to an episode list. The title name isn't a link. Accessibility is horrendous! There are many other issues that I've run into. The drop down box to change seasons does not function in either browser.

I'm blown away that the UI is designed so poorly. I've been using this service for over a year and nothing functionality has not changed at all.

Windows, Windows 10

There is a logic to it, and when you go with that logic, it works consistently.

Up Next is a queue list, to be used primarily to continue watching where you left off last time. Then the primary function is to start episodes from there immediately.

If you want to see an episode list for a show, or look up other show details or episode details, then you should access it slightly differently.

  • Notice the triple dot (⋯) More button in the lower right corner of all released show tiles, when hovering the mouse pointer over that tile. That will bring up a contextual menu for that item. For tiles in the Up Next row, the options include View Details, which will bring you to a Details page for that show.
  • Notice that Up Next is the first row only. All the content below that lists all Apple TV+ shows, grouped into categories (Top charts, For you, Entire seasons, Top chart: movies, Latest originals, Coming soon, Browse by category [overview], Comedies, Documentaries, Music themed, Feature films, Drama series, Comedy series, Non-fiction series, Kids & family). Clicking any one of those tiles will bring you to the Details page for that show or category.
  • Notice that most rows are scrollable horizontally, to list more shows for that row. Find the arrow on the right side when hovering over any row. When having scrolled to the right, a left arrow will be available to scroll back. On touch screen devices, such rows are swipeable without needing to use arrows to click.
  • Search was added by user request, as some users find their preferred content through keyword search. The presented Explore suggestions there (before typing) are not the complete list of available shows and movies, though, but can provide a two-click access for many users.
