Tried turning off several apps and features but results still the same

There are many causes of unexpected high battery utilisation - including but not limited to a malfunctioning or poorly coded App, high screen brightness, computational/CPU loading, or hardware or battery fault.


You should note that Apple's quoted battery life between recharges is an "up to" figure. While the precise set of conditions is lengthy, you can assume that this will not be for high screen brightness (such as being used outdoors or in very bright ambient lighting) with moderate to low CPU loading.



Tracing a problem often requires systematic testing, paying close attention to the Apps being used, so as to identify any potential links to specific Apps or activity.


As for general troubleshooting, disconnect your Power Adapter - and then perform a forced-restart of your iPad:


Force restart iPad (models with Face ID or with Touch ID in the top button)

If your iPad doesn’t have the Home button, do the following:

  1. Press and quickly release the volume button nearest to the top button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume button farthest from the top button.
  3. Press and hold the top button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the top button.




Force restart iPad (models with the Home button)

Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
